Cyber Wellness Week 2016 @ CHIJ OLQP

The school held its Cyber Wellness Week from 28th June to 1st July 2016. Selected P4 pupils attended a Cyber Wellness Advocator Training Workshop to be equipped as Cyber Wellness Ambassadors.

The workshop sessions conducted as well as the bookmark and comic designing competitions piqued the interest of pupils while learning at the same time. The lessons learnt were also reinforced with projects done by the Cyber Wellness Ambassadors, and the experiential learning game booths conducted during the Cyber Wellness Carnival.

The week concluded with an assembly programme where pupils learnt about the three main personalities of Internet users – Achiever, Befriender and Free Spirit. The pupils had a wonderful time and learnt to be a more responsible and tactful cyber user.

Cyber Wellness Week 2015 @ CHIJ OLQP

The school held its Cyber Wellness Week from 30th June to 3rd July 2015. The selected P4 pupils who attended a Cyber Wellness Advocator Training Workshop were assigned the role of Cyber Wellness Ambassadors.

The workshops were conducted for all the classes and they focused on topics like “Safe Searching on the Internet” and “Respecting Intellectual Property”. These messages were once again being emphasized during the Cyber Wellness Carnival through the experiential learning game booths. Some of the projects done by the Cyber Wellness Ambassadors were also showcased during the carnival.

The week ended with an assembly programme that reinforced pupils’ awareness of Internet risks and password protection. The pupils had a wonderful time learning to be a more responsible and tactful Cyber user.

Cyber Wellness Week @ CHIJ OLQP 2014

Cyber Wellness Week 2014 started on the 1 st week of term 3, from 30 June to 4 July. Pupils attended a one-hour lesson in school conducted by experienced trainers from Kingmaker Consultancy Pte Ltd. Topics relating to Cyber Wellness issues were taught and discussed. These messages were further reinforced with the 2-day Cyber Wellness Carnival that was held during recess. The carnival featured experiential learning game booths, attractive poster and artefacts, as well as quizzes and contests.

20 Primary Four pupils were selected to be Cyber Wellness Ambassadors. They attended a two-day workshop on Cyber Wellness issues during the June holidays. Thereafter, the Cyber Wellness Ambassadors facilitated the learning game booths in the carnival as well as shared some important topics with their peers during assembly such as additive nature of computer games and hurtful nature of Cyber Bullying.

The Cyber Wellness week activities have helped to improve pupils’ awareness of Internet risks and inculcate safe and responsible online behaviour. With all these interesting and engaging activities, our pupils will surely be more careful and responsible in the Cyber World!



Cyber Wellness Week @ CHIJ OLQP 2013

The school had its first Cyber Wellness Week this year, from 1st July to 5th July 2013,   with the instructors from Kingmaker Consultancy. Several Primary Four pupils  were selected to be Cyber Wellness Ambassadors and they were educated on  cyber wellness issues and how to become advocates during a two-day workshop.

There was also a school-wide cyber wellness workshop for all pupils that explored topics  such as Social Media, Video Gaming Addiction and many more. These messages were  reinforced with the Cyber Wellness Carnival that was held during recess.

The carnival featured experiential learning game booths, interesting videos,  as well as quizzes and contests.

The week ended with an assembly programme that improved pupils’ awareness of Internet  risks and changed their attitudes and values towards cyber wellness.

With all these interesting and engaging activities, cyber wellness has become a talking point with our pupils.
