Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and as we welcome 2018, we want to thank all students and parents, past and present for your support. We now have a spanking new block with more classrooms and facilities to support teaching and learning opportunities for our students and staff. We are happy to announce that our school will be embarking on the final phase of our PERI upgrading project and we aim to complete the project as scheduled.
We will continue to provide opportunities and a learning environment that will nurture every child to maximise their potential. As we firmly believe in the importance of a holistic education that extends beyond the confines of the classroom, we want our pupils to excel not only academically but also physically, socially, emotionally and mentally with strong character and leadership qualities.
Our students continue to show the virtues that we have imbibed in them through different platforms in their class, school and also community. Our school’s “Love Your Pet, Love Our Environment” project that was initiated by our girls in 2016 to support the community in keeping the environment clean and responsible pet ownership is now into its third year and our girls continue to show their virtues of love, care, respect and consideration for the environment we live in. Residents along the Chestnut community have acknowledged our girl’s commitment, care and respect for the environment in this meaningful project.
As part of the school’s innovative programme –I-DRIVE, we encourage and support our girls in their creative ideas and create platforms for them to share their ideas with their peers and parents. We are very pleased that our girl’s projects have been selected to be showcased at the event Singapore Day 2018. The Riptide Roller created by Emelin, Su Hyun, Naya and Mika and The Great Dynamo by Kika and Mika Cheah will be featured on 24 March 2018 in London.
We are blessed with great support from our parents led by our Parent Support Group. This year, the PSG has successfully completed two projects, The Chinese New Year Cookies Sale and the recently completed Movie Night which was a tremendous success due to the overwhelming support from our girls and parents. This year, we will be organising a “Sing, Swing, Spin” Carnival on Sat 30 June 2018. We look forward to providing a memorable experience for our girls and also the support from our parents in this fund-raising project.
Indeed, we have been blessed with wonderful students, dedicated staff, supportive parents and partners and God’s grace! We look forward to the strong continued support as we journey towards our school’s vision, “Enthusiastic Learner, Humble Leader, Gracious Lady.”
Always remembering to be “Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty”.
